International Women’s Day (IWD) is March 8. First celebrated in 1911, this annual, global event commemorates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also serves as a call to action to accelerate women’s equality. The theme this year is ‘Choose to Challenge,’ which calls on all of us to stand up in solidarity and raise a hand against inequality and gender bias across the globe.
At Insureon, we have embraced and accepted this challenge. Last year, we created a Diversity & Inclusion Council to foster an environment that attracts the best talent, values diversity of life experiences and perspectives, and supports our company’s mission. Next, our 2021 business strategy includes the goal of building the next generation workplace that is supportive of where our employees do their best work. We are continuing to question the status quo and engaging our employees in how we can enhance our culture and create more belonging in our diverse workforce of more than 54% women.
